Hello RDPS Families:
Halloween/ orange and black theme day
is an exciting time for many of our students. As it approaches, we remind you
of our routines at school on Wednesday, October 31.
- costumes
are to be worn in the afternoon only;
- as per
usual, there are no treats as many of our students have severe allergies
to certain products;
- please
remember students celebrating this occasion
in costume must comply with the Safe Schools’ Policy (#668.0
on the York Region District School Board website);
- costume accessories including, but not limited to, toy
guns, knives, axes, swords, etc. are not in compliance with Safe Schools
Policy #668.0 and are not permitted at school;
- the in-school parade begins at 3:00 pm;
- staff and students have a route for picking up each of
the classes, all of whom will be walking through the gym for parents to
see;
- some chairs will be set up in the gym with an aisle in
the middle through which the children will walk;
- we ask
that parents and guardians stay in the gym until the last student in the
parade has exited the gym – this allows all children to be seen and it
limits the congestion as people exit the gym;
- after
the last child has exited the gym, parents/guardians are welcome to wait
for their children outside the main entrance of the building for after
school pick up. Students will need some time after the parade for
end-of-day classroom routines and for gathering their belongings.
We are looking forward to a
fun day!
